The Access to HE Diploma - Business is designed for adults age 19+ who are aiming to progress onto undergraduate and higher Diploma Courses. Day time study is approximately 12 hours delivered over three days a week. It is strongly advisable to have GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above before undertaking an Access Diploma. If you do not have these qualifications, we aim to give you the opportunity to study them at Kingston College alongside the Access course.

Candidates are required to have GCSE English Language at grade C/4. If you do not have GCSE Maths at grade C/4 you may be given the opportunity to study this subject alongside your Access Diploma to achieve a grade 4 or above. Acceptance onto the GCSE course will be dependent on the result of an initial assessment. A satisfactory reference must be received. International applicants should have an IELTS qualification score of 5.5.
The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Business is made up of a core support programme of Business Studies. The remainder of the programme is comprised of Maths and Study Skills, which are designed to provide all students with essential skills for undergraduate study, for example note-taking, research and presentation skills. This course requires excellent time management, maturity of approach and a high level of commitment throughout the year. Students will be supported in their studies and UCAS application through a weekly tutorial session.
Learners will be able to progress onto a wide range of Business Higher Education courses including those offered at Kingston College: Foundation Degree (FdA) Business, HND Business, L5 Certificate in Human Resource Management and L6 Diploma in Law and Practice.
One year, part time (September start), typically three days a week in college.
The Access to HE Diploma in Business course is popular and applicants are advised to apply in advance. Please be aware that if you do not meet Home Student Residency status, you will be charged at the higher level fee. You may be eligible for help with fees and/or childcare, depending on your circumstances.
If you are age 19 or over you may qualify for a student loan that will pay for your tuition fees. This loan will not need to be repaid if you progress onto Higher Education and complete an eligible higher education qualification.
