HNC Business Studies

This course is suitable for people wishing to develop their career to professional level. Accountancy is a highly-skilled and highly-disciplined field, which is why good Accountants remain in demand across the UK. In fact, research shows that country will need around 80,000 additional Accountants by 2050 and this is an industry full of opportunities!

The course is awarded by Pearson and it gives students a practical grounding in a range of business disciplines such as accounting, human resource management, operations management and marketing. Assignment and activities are designed to simulate real world situations.

The HNC course consists of 4 units, with an additional 4 units available if you choose to progress to the HND course in the following year. Typical units can include:

  • Business and the Business Environment
  • Management and Operations
  • Marketing Essentials
  • Human Resource Management
  • Innovation and Commercialisation
  • Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management
  • Management Accounting
  • Managing a Successful Project (Pearson Set)

The following information is designed to give you a general overview of the qualifications we accept. If you are taking qualifications that are not included below, please contact our Admissions Office who will be happy to advise you. Typically, you will need one of the following:

  • Level 2 Qualifications in English and Mathematics
  • 64 UCAS points or equivalent

Upon completing your course, you have a great range of options available to help you continue your adventure, the course provides the opportunity to study for a year and gain the HNC qualification and if you choose you can then progress to the HND qualification. Following these you are able to top-up this course to a full Degree James Hopkins College Centre and other participating Universities.
